On Saturday it was 78 degrees…and 8 days until Christmas!  I quickly whipped up this amazing outfit for Ruby and we dashed to the park for a few pics!  The weather flip flops  overnight at this time of year.  On Sunday it was 40 and pouring!  But in South Louisiana, we are Wild About Winter!!  [Insert pic of child posing as flamingo!!]

I’ve been dying to share a few of my favorite pictures from our photoshoot for Simple Life Pattern Company‘s Showcase!

I love every single detail about the Leah Wrap Top and the Emilya Skinny Pants!  Both patterns I’ve owned forever and never got around to sewing.  Well, after this combo, my little Rue demanded another set!

The Emilya pattern can be made into capris and bermuda shorts with adorable cuffs on the bottoms.  I have a feeling these will be a regular item in Ruby’s wardrobe for Spring and Summer!

Just as we were finishing our photo session, Ruby found a new friend!  She loves lady bugs and this was a particularly gorgeous and very friendly one!  We always set our friends free before leaving the park or camping but this little lady wanted to stay!

So hop on over to the Simple Life Pattern Company blog to check out all of the details, a few secrets and tips on how Leah and Emilya came together and more fun photos from our shoot!

  1. Thanks for this great post! I found about SLPco from a post you made this summer. I made my girl’s Thanksgiving and Christmas dresses both from their patterns.
