What a fantastic week it has been with the kick off of the big Simple Life Pattern Company sale! I hope you all got the beauties you’d been longing for…and then some! I mean with tiered pricing on top of SUPER sale prices, you really NEED them ALL!!
Katie has done an amazing job with all of the new patterns plus the new add-ons. I wanted to share a fun and super easy mash-up that I made this week.
So, we all saw the new Lucy Knit Bodice Add-on. I love when designers make add-ons. I feel like I can get that much more out of the patterns I already have without having to buy a whole new pattern! AND they work out all of the modifications for you, so you can focus on your fabric and completing your project in record time!
My daughter loves maxi dresses. Her friends at school wear them and I make them as often as I can! So with the release of the Lucy Knit Bodice Add-On, I decided to mash it with the Bella maxi ruffled skirt.
To do this, I followed the directions to make the Lucy knit bodice. Then I followed the directions in the Bella pattern for the skirt. When it was time to gather the skirt, I gathered to the width of the bodice and attached as the pattern instructs. No other modifications were needed to make the bodice and skirt fit because of the gathers. It went together seamlessly.
I also made a regular Lucy (with knit bodice add on). It is such a gorgeous pattern and I love how the knit bodice cuts down on sewing time.
As an added bonus to the sale, I’m giving away a dolly and me pattern set! These new dolly patterns are so amazing (Dolly Molly and Dolly Ayda). They fit 15″ and 18″ dolls. Leave me a comment below with your favorite new pattern or add-on that was recently released by SLPco. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram and leave a comment on my Lucy picture for an extra chance! I’ll choose one winner at random at 9am on Tuesday, Feb. 14th!
Be sure to join the Simple Life Patterns Fan Group on Facebook for special sneak peeks and to keep up to date on sale information. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram (@ruby_rue_creations) for even more fun (and sometimes giveaways!).
Stay tuned for some more jaw dropping creations from my fellow bloggers!

I love the Lucy! Something about a simple dress I find so cute! I think it’s just so nice to have an easy to wear dress for everyday play. I bought 3 of their patterns the other day when the sale started have some more sitting in my cart waiting for me to buy them.
