When I discovered Simple Life Pattern Company a year or so ago, I immediately fell in love with Ayda. I loved deep V-back and the circle skirt and the optional trim. I swooned over each and every Ayda I made for my daughter. My daughter loved how much it twirled!
Then a miracle happened! Simple Life Pattern Company and Sew Caroline got together for this fantastic collaboration! A mommy and me matchy-matchy dream come true! My daughter is 4 and still thinks it is really cool to match mommy – so I’m going with it as long as I can!
I scooped up the women’s version of Ayda and got to work! The pattern is just as easy and quick to construct as the girls version. Ayda features a fully lined bodice and a half circle skirt. No zippers or closures to fuss over make it beginner friendly! You can make it in dress length or as a cute peplum top; both options are included in the pattern.
A huge thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for generously providing the Bougainvillea Evergreen from Bari J.’s Sage Collection. It’s such a dream. The colors are so vibrant and remind me of our gorgeous botanical gardens which are in full bloom right now.
I have worn my dress three times since I made it last weekend! I love that I can dress it up with heels for date night or wear it with sandals for an afternoon in the park. Besides the sleeveless version I made here, you can also make Ayda with flutters or with cap sleeves! It really is such a versatile dress for any occasion and any season!
