I’m over the moon to be a part of this Simple Life Blog Tour from Phat Quarters and Handmade Boy. This is my first experience with Monaluna Fabrics and I have to say it was truly amazing! I have drooled over their prints for a long time and was not disappointed when my fabric arrived! This organic poplin is so soft to the touch!
When Gemia from Phat Quarters showed me the Simple Life line we would be using, my heart skipped a beat! WE LOVE CAMPING! I mean, like, my kids ask EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. when we are going on our next camping trip! Monaluna’s Simple Life line is our cup of tea!
My son is the ripe old age of 6. He’s very particular with decisions he makes about clothing and his “stuff”. When I showed him the Bear Family print, he instantly had the biggest smile on his face and said “YES! I want a sleeping bag out of THIS!!” Wellllllll, ok!
I didn’t have a sleeping bag pattern, but I figured “how hard could this be”? I quickly searched on Pinterest and found a few tutorials to get the general idea. It actually came together much easier than I originally thought. I’m not a quilter or a maker of blankets…so this was a learning experience for sure! But this sleeping bag turned out even better than I imagined.
Of course, my son also needed a matching pillowcase and some new pajamas! The Little Leaves print was perfect for his Pajama Party Pants from Peekaboo Pattern Shop! The fabric is so soft that my son wore them two nights in a row! His tee is the Grand Slam from Peekaboo Pattern Shop made from French Terry Cotton Lycra. I have to say that I’m a wee bit jealous of his PJs….ok a lot jealous! Oh and don’t forget his Monster Feet Slippers to complete the look!
Throughout the entire photoshoot, my son kept saying “this is the best photoshoot ever”! I practically had to drag him out of the sleeping bag when we were done taking pictures!
Then, he made us recreate the whole scene at bedtime and slept nice and cozy in his new Monaluna Fabric sleeping bag!

Super cute! I remember when you were asking about sleeping bag patterns. You did a great job! I may ask you later what you ended up using. My daughter’s ripped at camp last year and it is currently patched up with duct tape! Oops! Mom fail.
